What This Reference Does
Illinois public-record routes are spread across agencies. The Randolph County Sheriff creates and maintains custody information, including the current-inmate page and the public frame that displays photos with current entries. Chester Police, Sparta Police, and Red Bud Police hold their own city records. The Circuit Clerk and its linked court search carry the later case timeline. IDOC covers a different custody state after a person is sentenced or transferred.
This resource gathers those official paths and explains their limits in plain language. The county guide describes the Sheriff’s roster, the absence of a separate recent-bookings archive, focused FOIA requests, state and federal boundaries, correction routes, and city records. It links the official current-inmate page, Circuit Clerk, and IDOC search without copying their records.
What You Will Find Here
The pages are organized around a reader’s next responsible step, not around a collection of faces.
- The home page explains booking records, current custody, the photo-bearing county roster, the lack of a distinct county booking archive, and the county FOIA route.
- Most Wanted explains how to verify a possible warrant through the Sheriff and Circuit Clerk when no public wanted roster was located.
- Crime News & Mugshots maps County Journal, North County News, WHCO, and unofficial county indexes to the official record.
- The Chester, Sparta, and Red Bud pages identify each police department, city FOIA path, booking destination, and local news difference.
- The pages explain how IDOC, BOP, ICE, court records, and records requests cover different custody or legal states.
What This Site Cannot Do
This is a privately run reference site, not a Randolph County government office. It has no connection with the Sheriff’s Office, Randolph County Jail facility, Chester Police, Sparta Police, Red Bud Police, Illinois corrections, or the courts. It cannot release or transfer a person, confirm a live custody status, accept bond, schedule a visit, send money, retrieve a restricted record, or give legal advice.
- Only the originating agency can confirm current custody, charges recorded at intake, release, or a releasable booking image.
- Only the court record can establish a dismissal, acquittal, plea, sentence, or another disposition.
- Phone numbers, fees, hours, policies, and links can change, so confirm them with the responsible office.
Booking and arrest information is an accusation, not a conviction. A person remains presumed innocent unless and until a court determines otherwise.
Search Partner Disclosure
Some pages include a search box supplied by a third-party provider. That provider controls its own results, pricing, and data practices. If a visitor follows a tool to a paid signup, the private site may receive a referral fee that helps fund the reference pages. A referral does not make the provider a government source, and it does not give this site control over the service or its output.
